Interviewing On A Dime

It's been so long since I've been here :(  Life has a way to consuming all my time. I've been awake since 4:00 am. So here I am playing catch up.  The outfit I'm wearing is from a job interview I had a few months ago. I felt very comfortable which I believe is very important when presenting your best.  The jacket was a thrift store find.  The blouse I picked up at Kolhs and the slacks were purchase from who knows where??????? Some items i purchase long ago but have become a "staple" in my closet. As we enter fall, it's time to pull out those boots, dig out those sweaters, embrace those scarves as me move into what I believe to be the most pretty time of the year "fall".  Until we meet again, God's blessing to you and your loved ones.

Suzy and I took our last photo shoot outside Yuba City near a corn field. We found this cool old rusty crusty car and the owner was sweet enough to let us do are thing.  Unfortunately, the owner of the corn field which was across the street from where we were shooting, didn't like the idea of us roaming around. However, he sure didn't mind watching us! Whats up with that!! Get a grip buddy! It wasn't like we could drive away in the rusty crusty old car. The ground that the car was park in was slowly consuming it. Maybe he thought we would stick a few ears of corn under our shirts. Who knows. Besides dealing with Mr "perturbed" we had a wonderful time.

The heels are Liz Claiborne, capris are from Marshals, jewerly is Cookie lee.  Last but not least, the belt and shirt are from one of my favorite stores, Thrifty Bargin.

Barn Yard Fashions

How do you like this old barn yard post. We found this old barn and i just loved the different colors and textures in the barn. From wood to tin this old barn had lots to offer. The skirt, sweater, shirt and belt are from local thirty bargin store. I just love this store and love getting a great deal for my money. I bought the shoes a few years back at kohls.  I hope everyone had a great Easter.

Night out

My daughter in law Suzy decided we needed some evening posts. So here's my first nighttime post. The water fountain was very pretty. It didn't last though, as it shut down on us. So we only got a few pictures done. On another topic, I need to toot my daughter in law's horn. She was invited to do a photo shoot for Solestruck. It's a shoe website located out of Portland, Oregon. Check out Suzy's blog and you'll know why they chose her. Her blog is Beneath the Glass. So toot toot - check her out :).

Past the half way mark and moving forward

Well last week I celebrated my 56th birthday. I have to say, it was one of the best birthdays I have celebrated in the last 10 years. My sister, who is one year younger than me was gracious enough to accept my offer to come to the sunny state of Cali. However, it was only sunny two of the four days she was here. I actually purchased several gifts for myself this year, which is unusual for me to do so on my birthday. My hubby presented myself and my sister with flowers- way to score points honey! I then received a handmade stocking hat which my niece made (I will have to do another post on her work, as it is incredible). I also purchased a sewing machine, my very first which now sits on the dinning room table beckoning  me..ugh. Ahhh, I haven't used a sewing machine since middle school. I also received some very special wrinkle cream in the mail even thought it's past time to address those wrinkles. Next, I purchased a pendant light for my shabby chic bedroom that is in process. My wonderful daughter in law baked a carrot cake for me. It was so yummy! I froze the leftover pieces, but those didn't last long as I have already eaten the pretty little things. Some things, like taste, shouldn't have to wait!  My daughter in law also presented me with a charm for my Chamilia bracelet which I adore. It's a charm representing my two grandchildren. I have to say, the best present was the time I spent with my sister. She is so wonderful, creative and she has the best sense of humor. I just love being with her. She helped me take down the ceiling fan in my bedroom so we could put up the pendant light. Please visit her blog, it's Panther Creek Cottage. You can see just how creative this sister of mine is. Life's too short not to enjoy. Cheers until next time!

Humm, what should I buy for my Birthday?

Taking down the ceiling fan in our bedroom.

Here's the pendant light we put up. It doesn't show in this picture but the reflection of the lighting is very nice. Next is paint.

The carrot cake my daughter in law made was very yummy.

See the little girl and boy charm. My family gave me a very wonderful birthday. I'm a very blessed woman :)

Walking In Sunshine

It's like sping here in Yuba city California. My blogging buddy and I still haven't had any winter weather to post our winter outfits. But I'm not complaining, I'm Lovin the sunshine! Those sweaters will have to wait until mother nature changes her mind.

New Years Resolution - Get going on that bedroom make over

I got a good start on my resolution to re-make my bedroom over. It was one of those things that I had dreaded to tackle. However, I was pleasantly surprise at how easy this task was. Keep watching as I move through this make over. Let me know what ya think.

Gotta Love Them Scarves!

I love these boots that I got for a steal at thrifty bargain. Getting bargains means more money left for more bargains of course.

Shoe Extravaganza!

Shoes, shoes, shoes. Just where would we women be without our shoes???
All of them are like friends. Some are bubbly, some are smart, some not so smart, some are fun, some are serious, some even hurt ya. But thank God we all have them when we need them, which is pretty much everyday. Unless its summer and you're a barefootin' it.

And check out my awesome grandchildren. Lia is a shoe fiend in the making. She's even checking them for "taste". She thinks these leopard print ones are pretty tasteful. Austin, i just love him so much. He's so right in there helping and even giving advise on the photo shoot.

So remember,Shoes are like friends. We need them ALL. Cheers, cindy :)
